Losán contributes to reinforce wood presence in Casa Decor
Casa Decor has been shaking up the interior design show business for 27 years. The key? A different format in which the interior of an emblematic building in Madrid is renovated every year. In this edition, a building has been chosen in the glamorous neighbourhood of Barrio de Salamanca with an avant-garde façade and a rationalist interior. 50 spaces decorated by professionals in the fields of architecture, decoration and interior design that present the latest trends in the market.
This year, Losán was present for the first time, thanks to Carone Mobiliario and interior designers Cristina Amigo and Lorena del Pozo. Through their sculpture "Escala" they have materialized inside the building the transition from earth to sky, from rational to imagination, from the basement to the attic. The work evolves and changes materials as the visitor ascends up the stairs: it begins with wood, which symbolizes beginnings and roots and it ends with synthetic materials that evoke future worlds.
Losán has supplied a variety of species such as oak, eucalyptus, sapelli, grissard, walnut ... The different pieces of wood have been smoked, aged or heat-treated, with the aim of achieving a range of natural tones that provide warmth and texture to the base of the sculpture. All this is enhanced by the lightness of the sculpture, which is hanging from the ceiling and expands around the main staircase of the building. With this warm welcome in the hall, the interior design project invites to reflection and with its narrative thread it accompanies the visitor along the exhibition.
Regarding trends, bright colours are taking center stage. Pinks, greens and blues are featured in the different spaces through furniture and bold accessories. Wood, on the other hand, moves towards light tones that highlight the purity of natural oak. Losán offers melamines with similar designs such as the Norfeu Oak, the Tivoli Oak, Mauro Oak or, one of our most recent additions, Hickory Classic.
